Google has announced<\/a> it has added a new attribute to Google Business Profiles for Asian-owned businesses. This new attribute can be added to your verified Google Business Profile and it makes it easier to find Asian-owned businesses in their own community.<\/p>\n

What the attribute looks like.\u00a0<\/strong>Here is what the new Asian-owned attribute looks like in a business listing in Google Maps or Google Search:<\/p>\n

How to add the attribute.\u00a0<\/strong>Here are the steps to add this attribute to your Google Business Profile:<\/p>\n

  1. Go to your Business Profile.\u00a0Learn how to find your profile<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Select\u00a0Edit profile\u00a0<\/strong>\"and\u00a0Business information<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  3. Near the top, select the\u00a0More<\/strong>\u00a0tab.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  4. Select the category you want to change.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  5. Next to the attribute, select\u00a0Yes<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0No<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  6. When you\u2019re finished updating your attributes, select\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Other attributes.\u00a0<\/strong>Yelp has had this type of attribute\u00a0since May 2021<\/a>, this is another case of where Google is playing catch up to Yelp. In 2018, Google introduced\u00a0family-led<\/a>\u00a0(which is no longer available),\u00a0veteran-led<\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0women-led attributes<\/a>, in 2020 Google added\u00a0black-owned attributes<\/a>, in 2021 Google added a\u00a0Latino-owned attribute<\/a>\u00a0in business profiles and recently Google added the LGBTQ+ attribute<\/a> in business profiles.<\/p>\n

    Why we care.\u00a0<\/strong>Attributes like these can help generate visibility for your profile, so if you qualify for any of these Business Profile attributes, you should add them to your profile \u2013 and at least test it out. Businesses need to leverage any advantage they can to help grow their revenue and their customer base. <\/p>\n
