Use an AI tool like ChatGPT and use the prompt:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGive me a list of the best content on (insert topic).\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<\/div>\n<p>It will throw back a list that will be inaccurate.<\/p>\n<p>By this, I mean the content is unlikely to exist or be real.<\/p>\n<p>Once Microsoft Bing and Google launch their respective in-SERP AI tools, you\u2019ll probably get an accurate response. But for now, we\u2019ll use this differently because that\u2019s not where the magic lies in this approach.<\/p>\n<p>The AI tools give you a response that they think you\u2019ll like. You get some quite creative titles of articles.<\/p>\n<p>So, here\u2019s how I\u2019ve been using this approach.<\/p>\n<p>Take items on that list and throw them into Google, one by one.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<\/div>\n<p>You\u2019ll find that you\u2019ll get back results similar to what you\u2019ve searched for in an AI tool.<\/p>\n<p>This is a super long-tail search query you probably haven\u2019t encountered before.<\/p>\n<p>Google (or whatever search engine you use) will give you the closest matching content to the article title AI suggests.<\/p>\n<p>This approach unlocked some creative ideas I\u2019d never considered and gave me new content to read as part of my research. I think this tip might evolve as AI does. We\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Use_articles_discovered_to_build_your_brief\"><\/span>2. Use articles discovered to build your brief<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When you find articles you like as part of your research, take their H2s to help you build a more comprehensive brief for an AI writing tool.<\/p>\n<p>You can use a Chrome extension, like Detailed SEO, to list the headers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<\/div>\n<p>It\u2019s a quick copy and paste from here into a document or spreadsheet.<\/p>\n<p>As you generate more H2s for your content, you can add them into a brief for an AI writing tool later.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Use_AI_to_create_a_brief_to_rank_on_Page_1\"><\/span>3. Use AI to create a brief to rank on Page 1<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>AI tools can help you build a brief designed to rank on Google. Here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n<p>Go to your chosen SERP analyzer tool, such as Frase or Surfer SEO, and follow their steps to research the SERP.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<\/div>\n<p>You\u2019ll be able to grab the H2s for all of the top-ranking content and pull them into a brief creator.<\/p>\n<p>At this stage, depending on the tool you are using, they might also have an AI tool that can write the content.<\/p>\n<p>A word of warning: Google has specifically told SEOs that it is against their guidelines to use AI just to rewrite content.<\/p>\n<p>So, I wouldn\u2019t advise that.<\/p>\n<p>What you\u2019re doing here is researching the SERP.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll always want to mix human and AI content and add something new.<\/p>\n<p>This brings me to the next tip.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Use_AI_to_add_something_new_to_the_content\"><\/span>4. Use AI to add something new to the content<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Don\u2019t just copy the top rankings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Use AI to add something new and stand out from the crowd of existing content.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, go to the tool you used to assemble the brief, or add your own brief and place it within a tool such as ChatGPT.<\/p>\n<p>Use a simple prompt such as:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe following is a brief for an article on the complete guide to home security. Please tell me what subjects I am missing to make it a better and more complete article able to rank on google on page 1 for the target (insert keyword) 1+ (insert brief).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT will give you something like this as a response.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<\/div>\n<p>The tool will add more aspects that you haven\u2019t considered.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll be able to do this several times to ensure you have everything.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_The_fast_first_draft\"><\/span>5. The fast first draft<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>With a brief, you can create a first draft at breakneck speed.<\/p>\n<p>The idea isn\u2019t to create a wonderful article. It\u2019s to let the AI tool do more of the heavy lifting.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, use your favorite AI writing tool and add your brief.<\/p>\n<p>Next, use the tool to create a fast first draft.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<\/div>\n<p>You\u2019ll end up with something that reads OK and is probably quite wordy, but that\u2019s fine. It\u2019s helped you to generate something useful.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the real work begins.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_The_first_skim_and_trim\"><\/span>6. The first skim and trim<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Once you have the fast first draft, you must read, review and trim.<\/p>\n<p>Look at the article, and see what\u2019s good, what\u2019s awful and what could be better.<\/p>\n<p>Remove anything awful on the first trim.<\/p>\n<p>This is just about removing fluff at this stage.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"7_Research_each_area\"><\/span>7. Research each area<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>What? You thought you\u2019d get away without research? Not a chance.<\/p>\n<p>You have a brief with the help of AI, and it\u2019s added some good content already. Now you need to go and learn.<\/p>\n<p>Research a section of the brief at a time. Add expert elements<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I covered this in a recent article on <a href=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/seo-content-writing-vs-content-writing-390270\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">improving your content<\/a>, but here are nine ways to create useful SEO content that humans love:<\/p>\n<p>Add your own data.<\/p>\n<p>Add design.<\/p>\n<p>Add facts.<\/p>\n<p>Insert videos.<\/p>\n<p>Add unique H2s (that don&#8217;t feature in the SERPs).<\/p>\n<p>Add quick answers.<\/p>\n<p>Add specifications, details and numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Commit to real answers.<\/p>\n<p>Get quotes from business leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Adding these elements to your content will make it more human and less AI.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"13_Use_AI_to_detect_content_quality\"><\/span>13. Now, you can head to tools to make it perfect.<\/p>\n<p>Use content tools like Grammarly to leverage AI processes and ensure your grammar and tone are bang on.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<\/div>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been using Grammarly Pro for years, and it&#8217;s saved my neck on more than one occasion.<\/p>\n<p>But be warned: as with any AI tool, be careful not to let them strip the humanity from your content.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"14_Optimize_the_hooks\"><\/span>14. Optimize the hooks<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Ensure that the article hooks readers. The title and headers must compel them to read on.<\/p>\n<p>To do so, use ChatGPT to give you keyword-focused catchy titles and headers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<\/div>\n<p>Just ask the tool for a list of catchy H2s to replace the one you have created.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll be surprised by what it can come up with.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"15_Fact-checking_and_expert_approval\"><\/span>15. Fact-checking and expert approval<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Before you publish, ensure you fact check anything you create.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any information that needs to be verified, ask an expert in the field.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It would be even better to state in the article that an expert reviewed and approved the piece, then link to their website or LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, this is all about ensuring that you&#8217;re producing factual, helpful content so that if a quality rater comes across the content, they&#8217;ll know it was reviewed and approved by an expert, if not written by one.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"16_Use_AI_to_create_a_meta_description\"><\/span>16.
