But it this new effort does \u201cdemonstrate Google\u2019s ambitions to reimagine the search experience.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The new search engine would \u201clearn what users want to know based on what they\u2019re searching.\u201d In addition, it would \u201coffer lists of preselected options for objects to buy, information to research and other information.\u201d At the same time, being more conversational, like talking to a person. Earlier reports has Google talking about <a href=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/google-ceo-search-will-evolve-substantively-in-next-10-years-395437\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">big changes coming to Google Search<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, Google tried to <a href=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/google-now-personalizes-everyones-search-results-31195\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heavily personalize search results<\/a> where it actually said all search results were being personalized for all users. But a decade later, Google admitted <a href=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/google-admits-its-using-very-limited-personalization-in-search-results-305469\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">personalization offered little benefit to searchers<\/a>. Personalization in search was very limited and pulled back in a big way, outside of immediate previous query and some localization based on the user\u2019s location. That may have been a <a href=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/google-search-personalization-confusion-382271\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">privacy play<\/a> but here we are in a world where now Google seems like it can <a href=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/new-bing-small-gains-vs-google-search-394733\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">potentially lose market share<\/a> to Microsoft Bing and other players.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Project_Magi\"><\/span>Project Magi<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While Google is working on an all-new search engine, a team of more than 160 Googlers are working full-time on adding new features to the existing Google Search.  This project is being code-named Magi, according to these reports and may be released as early as next month to a subset of users.<\/p>\n<p>Magi would allow searchers to complete transactions, such as buying shoes or booking flights, according to the report.  This would allow searchers to complete financial transactions, all while still incorporating the existing search ads that Google Search makes a huge profit on today.<\/p>\n<p>These changes can allow searchers to answer questions about \u201csoftware coding and write code based on a user\u2019s request.\u201d \u201cGoogle may place an ad under the computer code answers, according to a document,\u201d the report added.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Other_Google_projects\"><\/span>Other Google projects<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Google is also working on other efforts, including:<\/p>\n<p>Google Earth\u2019s mapping technology with help from A.I. and search for music through a conversation with a chatbot.<\/p>\n<p>GIFI would use A.I. to generate images in Google Image results.<\/p>\n<p>Tivoli Tutor, would teach users a new language through open-ended A.I. text conversations.<\/p>\n<p>Searchalong, would let users ask a chatbot questions while surfing the web through Google\u2019s Chrome browser.<\/p>\n<p>Lara Levin, a Google spokeswoman, said told the New York Times that \u201cnot every brainstorm deck or product idea leads to a launch, but as we\u2019ve said before, we\u2019re excited about bringing new A.I.-powered features to search, and will share more details soon.\u201d A Google spokesperson said that the company was continuously improving its search engine to give partners more reasons to choose Google, and that Android phone makers were free to embrace technologies from different companies to improve their users\u2019 experience, the Times reported.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_we_care\"><\/span>Why we care<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Watching how fast Google changes and reacts to OpenAI and Microsoft has been interesting.
