Google’s John Mueller told one webmaster that for his specific example, it might be a good idea for him to have a separate XML sitemap file for URLs that are “often updated.” John said “putting the newer URLs into a single “often updated” sitemap file is probably a good idea here.”

Yes, Anchor Text Is A Google Ranking Factor
I am a bit surprised I am writing this but yes, anchor text is a signal Google uses for ranking purposes. Yes, Google can ignore spammy links that try to manipulate rankings but normal anchor text does help Google rank a page for what the anchor text says about the page. Hence giving Google more context about the page.
Google: SEO Does Not Cause Visible Problems On Websites
Google’s John Mueller said on Twitter that he has “never seen a site where that was an issue which caused visible problems with SEO.” I wonder if any of you have. I suspect where SEOs stuff up the pages with content where it causes the page flow to be weird? Maybe some hacked spam SEO causing issues (but that is hacking, not SEO really).
