Last week we saw a poll about where SEOs go for help when they have an SEO problem. This week I see a poll from Carolyn Lyden on how most SEOs learned SEO. It seems like the vast majority of SEOs learned SEO hands-on, by getting their hands dirty and just doing the work.

Google Search Ranking Algorithm Update On July 10th – Not Confirmed
Yet again, we are seeing more volatility and ranking instability in the Google Search results. It probably started around July 9th through July 10th or so and we are seeing more chatter and many of the tools showing spikes.

Matt Cutts confirms Vince, calls it a ‘minor change’ In 2009, Google’s Matt Cutts created a video to answer many questions about a recent “brand push” in the search results that SEOs and webmasters had noticed, starting in late February. Cutts confirmed the “minor change,” adding that Google’s ranking algorithm may be factoring trust, quality, PageRank, and other metrics for more generic queries.
