Danny Sullivan of Google published a blog post on Friday named answers to some common questions about appearing in Google News. Sadly, I honestly don’t think this will lead to less questions and frustration from new publishers and their questions around sites appearing in Google News or not.

Google has confirmed that between April 25th 5:32PM ET and April 26th 3:24 PM ET there was a data reporting issue with those who pulled in data from the Google Ads and AdWords API or Google Ads Scripts.
Google: If You Want To Rank For Those Queries Don’t Syndicate Or Republish Content
Google’s John Mueller said sometimes syndicating or republishing content makes sense but it never makes sense if you want to rank for the queries that those pieces of content aim to rank for. He said on Twitter “if your goal is that only your site ranks for those queries, then syndicating / republishing is a bad idea.”
