Google Confirmed Crawling Bug But Said There Were No Negative Effects
Google’s John Mueller confirmed Google had a crawling issue – specifically saying “crawling for the caches had slowed down for some sites.” Google said it was fixed “a while” ago and added that “it wasn’t widespread, and that there were no negative effects overall.”

Google Local Business Photos Lead To Blank Images On Desktop Search
If you go to Google Search on desktop and type in some local businesses, then click on the first photo in the local knowledge panel – Google will load a black or blank photo. It is some sort of weird bug that I’ve seen happen since this past Saturday night on all businesses that I’ve tried it on.
Googlebot Slow Crawling The Web From November 11 – November 17?
Olivier Papon from Seolyzer, a log analysis toolset, reported the other week that Google seemed to slow or stop crawling most of the web between around November 11 and November 17th. I did ask Google about this but have yet to hear back. It seems Googlebot is back at the crawling business now but we are not sure what went wrong or if something did go wrong.

Google Search Console New Design Interface Now Live
This morning at about 5:30am ET, the Google Search Console team rolled out a new facelift and design for Google Search Console. The new design, according to Google’s Daniel Waisberg is “much cleaner.” Google said the design aims to improve “accessibility and user experience.”
Google Sort By Date For News Is Buggy
Danny Sullivan, the Search Liaison at Google Search, confirmed there is a bug with the sort by date feature in the Google Search news tab. Danny said on Twitter “if you’re searching with date restriction in news tab, we found a bug we hope to fix soon.”
