Daily Search Forum Recap: March 27, 2023

For the past couple of days or so, maybe starting as early as May 16, 2023 through today, May 18, 2023, I am seeing significant signs of another unconfirmed Google search ranking algorithm update.

Google’s John Mueller explained that for some sites, the model and fundamentals the site was built upon are “just no longer feasible.” He explained this when someone asked how long it would take to see recoveries after a Google algorithm update. John said “fundamental quality issues” can take longer than just a month to resolve and sometimes never.

Microsoft Bing is testing a new search bar interface on image search (I believe) where the search vertical options, such as web, videos, news, etc, are now presented in a drop-down bar and Bing added an “explore” and “collect” option across the bar instead.
