Google Ads will transition the functionality of Smart Campaign into Performance Max campaigns in the coming months. Google said “Performance Max provides all the same benefits of Smart campaigns and more,” in an email sent to one advertiser.

On Thursday, January 23rd, Google updated its search quality raters guidelines PDF document. The last time Google updated this document was for the March 2024 spam update changes, over ten months ago. This update seems to focus on on spam and adds some additional details.

Google Ads now lets you preview the assets generated by Google AI for your Google Ads AI Max campaigns. Google added these details to the About text customization in Search campaigns help page under a new section named “Text customization asset previews.”
