Google is now showing products that businesses add through the Google Business Profile manager directly in Google Shopping search results. I was not sure if this is new, but it seems most local SEOs think it is, so I am sharing it here.
How to dial in your ad messaging in an automated marketing world
Google and Microsoft have forced marketers away from manual controls in favor of automation. Responsive search ads have replaced expanded text ads. Performance Max is the new way forward for ecommerce. Multi-platform is coming to a Bing account near you. Specifically: Messaging’s unique power in today’s search campaigns. Successful elements of great messaging. The right way to think about testing and refining your messaging. Resources for developing effective messaging. We’ll also […]

Google adds landing page load time to Quality Score In 2008, Google AdWords confirmed a new addition to Quality Score: landing page load time. Google said they did this for two reasons: First, users have the best experience when they don’t have to wait a long time for landing pages to load. Interstitial pages, multiple redirects, excessively slow servers, and other things that can increase load times only keep users from getting what they want: information about your business. Second, users are more likely to abandon landing pages that load slowly, which can hurt your conversion rate. – Inside AdWords, Landing page load time […]

Twitter services are offline, including clicking on links, viewing images and more
Twitter services are currently not fully working right now, the issue started at about 11:50 am ET on March 6, 2023. The issues include clicking on links on tweets, to loading images, to logging into some Twitter services, like TweetDeck. Links broken. When you click on a link from a published tweet, you’re taken to an error message page that reads: {“errors”:[{“message”:”Your current API plan does not include access to this endpoint, please see https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api for more information”,”code”:467}]} I noticed this going down a bit after 11:50 and posted about it on Twitter, where else? 5 Things Musicians Should Leave Behind in 2023 Music Marketing Blog
Are you holding your music back? I talk to a lot of artists at gigs, at conferences, and online. Many are hard-working, clear-eyed, and creative. But whenever I hear an artist rationalize why they haven’t achieved a certain level of success, it often seems like they’re getting in their own way due to some outdated beliefs or faulty priorities. And this has nothing to do with the quality of their music. Sometimes people with amazing songs aren’t reaching the audiences they could because they’re holding too tightly to ideas that no longer serve them. Does this only apply to artists […]

Google: ‘Bard is not Search’
“I just want to be very clear: Bard is not search.” That’s according to Jack Krawczyk, the product lead for Bard, speaking during a Google all-hands meeting late last week, CNBC reported. Why we care. Following a rushed introduction of Bard, there has been confusion within the search industry. Google is to blame for much of that confusion for the way it introduced Bard at the same time as it teased “AI-powered features” coming soon to search. Why the confusion. Google’s introduction of Bard was rushed to upstage Microsoft’s introduction of the new Bing with ChatGPT integration the following day. […]
‘Link in bio’ platforms: Which is best for SEO?
With the popularity of social media came the rise of “link in bio” tools which allow users to create a landing page featuring multiple links they want to share with their audience. Initially designed to get around Instagram’s one-link rule, many brands and influencers now use them in other social media networks to easily share content with one link. Some even consider their link-in-bio page as a website replacement. But, are they good for ranking in search engines? This article will look at ‘link in bio’ platforms from an SEO perspective. ‘Link in bio’ platforms from an SEO perspective Also […]
Google featured snippets gain blue highlighted text
Google seems to have rolled out a new blue highlight feature for some featured snippets in the Google Search results. Google may highlight specific text that is important in answering your query, directly in the featured snippet result. Also, the font size of the featured snippets with blue highlighted text is larger than featured snippets without blue highlighted text. What is looks like. Here are some screenshots of queries that generate the new blue highlighted text featured snippet in Google Search: Previous tests. Back in September 2022, Google tested this feature with both yellow and blue highlighted text. It seems […]
