Google was asked if it is possible to add a new status to the XML sitemap statuses for “still processing.” John Mueller from Google responded on Blueshy saying, “I’ve chatted with the teams involved about this on & off, I’ve seen that it can be annoying.” But he added he has nothing to announce.

There is this hack (or trick) to force Google Search Console to show you the generative AI performance report for your social and video content, the new platform properties feature. All you need to do is add “/ai” after “search-analytics” or “discover” in the URL within Search Console. Google AI Mode Gemini 3.8 Flash Not Link / Citation Friendly?
As you know, Google rolled out Gemini 3.8 Flash for subscribers to AI Mode and some have started to play with it. And the early feedback is that AI Mode running Gemini 3.8 Flash is not link or citation friendly. Meaning, AI Mode with Google’s latest AI model is less likely to cite sources and link to sources than previous models.
