Rajan Patel, VP of Engineering for Google Search, has confirmed that the Google Search team is still well-resourced in its fight against search spam. The spam team continues to update its spam algorithms, such as the latest Google August 2026 spam update, to help reduce spam in Google Search results.

Google made several changes to the About Performance Max campaigns help document. Most of it just seems like grammatical updates but Google did update the Text customization section to say “Google AI generates headlines and descriptions from your landing page content, domain, and current ads.”
Copilot Search in Bing Now Officially Live
After initially going live on Wednesday morning, Microsoft did not officially announce the launch of Copilot Search in Bing until late Friday afternoon. Microsoft said, “Copilot Search seamlessly blends the best of traditional and generative search together to help you find what you need ‘” and meet you where you’re at in your discovery journey.”
