There is something super funny about listening to Lizzi and John from Google talk about the Google team doing SEO on the actual SEO help documentation. It is a fun listen to and I recommend you find some time to listen to this, no need to take notes, but just listen to it.

Google’s John Mueller said Google does not have manual action penalties for building sites that are missing logos, or missing the menu links at the top or even the footers at the bottom. John said on Twitter “I’m not aware of any manual actions / penalties that we’d apply for lack of those items. Sometimes minimal, old, simplified, or even ugly pages rank well, sometimes that also changes over time.”

Google announced last night that is has begun rolling out a new algorithm update targeting search spam. The new update is named the November spam update and should take about a week to rollout fully.

Google has pushed out three Product Reviews Updates, the latest being in March 2022. There was some confusion on if that March Product Reviews Update was more global in nature or just was focused on English language content. I wrote it was English only and I was right (this time).
