This morning I’ve been noticing a lot of complaints about the Google Search Console Performance report being delayed and data not fully being represented. It seems to be a global issue and even John Mueller of Google confirmed there is an issue at the moment.

A week after Google made a change to the titles it produces in its search results, the search company confirmed it actually did make these changes. I mean, why didn’t Google just write about it when they first noticed it, did they think we wouldn’t notice?

Google now has a notice when you add Google Posts in Google My Business that those posts can appear not just on Google properties but third-party sites. Claire Carlile posted a screenshot of Google notifying her of this and asked on Twitter “which third party sites would posts appear on?”

Google now may decide to review your Google My Business product uploads manually and approve or reject those. Usama Ali posted screenshots on Twitter of the this happening for his product uploads.

Google announced that the link spam update that initially began rolling out on July 26, 2021 is now done rolling out as of August 24, 2021. That is over a full-month of rolling for that update and two-weeks longer than Google initially said.

For the past 24-hours or so, the Google keyword planner tool within Google Ads has been broken. It is giving people errors and showing “no data” found responses.

J Turnbull posted a poll on Twitter asking SEOs if COVID changed how you do SEO. Like any SEO poll, the results were somewhat mixed. But of the 259 responses (not a ton), 52.5% said no, COVID did not change how they do SEO.

Google Ads seems to have launched a redesign for the campaign set up form/wizard. The new interface moves the steps from the top to the left hand side bar, and takes you through a new step by step process to set up your Google Ads campaigns.

Google is testing a number of additional carousels in Google Search. These carousels are titled “research,” “people also shop” and “similar products.” Here are screenshots and screencasts of these in action from those who spotted them.

Google Ads seemed to have a bug last week with Google Shopping in some regions, like the UK, but I think others, where the shopping listings were not showing up. Some advertisers were claiming drops in their listings from showing up by over 90%, yes, 90% impression drops for Google Shopping campaigns.

Google has been listening to the feedback and has said it hopes to make improvements based on what SEOs have been sharing.
