Google’s Danny Sullivan has confirmed that Google will be releasing more search algorithm updates. This includes more core updates, more spam update and other search related algorithm updates. He said this on Twitter adding “we have updates all the time.”

Embedding videos on your pages can slow the page down and cause your core web vital scores not to perform well. But using lazy loading methods or other tricks to get the videos to score well with core web vitals can cause the videos to not be ranked in Google Video search. John Mueller of Google discussed these pros and cons and some solutions.

Google is constantly, for years and years, saying it does not use click through rate (CTR) for search ranking purposes. John Mueller of Google was asked this again and he said “if CTR were what drove search rankings, the results would be all click-bait. I don’t see that happening.”

Google has changed the name of its local business management product once again. I think that might be sixth time, or maybe more, Google has changed the name of this product. It is now known as Google Business Profile, no longer will it be called Google My Business.

We now have an official date for when Google will be bringing the page experience update factors/signals to desktop. Google said it will start the rollout in February 2022 and complete that rollout by the end of March 2022. The same factors, outside of mobile friendliness, will be used for the desktop version.

Google posted a new job opening to become a spam fighter at the company. The job title is a Search Quality Analyst and it seems to be an in-person job at the GooglePlex in Mountain View, California.

There is a schema property named significantLink which is a way to communicate in your markup “one of the more significant URLs on the page.” Ryan Jones asked John Mueller of Google how Google may take any hints from that schema property. Here is how John reacted to that.

Google has relaunched the Google policy center for Ad Manager, AdMob and AdSense. This update has a new look, plus an updated account health summary, more filtering options and a more detailed issues table.

Google is emailing through Google Search Console about a new Google Assistant feature that will offer users the ability to automatically change their passwords to login to your website in Google Chrome. The Chrome feature, I think is several months old, but the notice from Google Search Console, I think, is new.

Google has announced two new ways to allow calculate shipping speeds with Google Merchant Center. You can (1) specify your shipping carrier, shipping service, and ship-from location and (2) you can link to your partner to authorize them to share your historical order tracking signals with Google.

Google’s John Mueller said that the search company does not have “objective metric for adultness.” He said if you need to have some sort of direction on what Google Search would consider adult content that might be filtered by SafeSearch, use the content policies help document as a “rough classification” for that.

Google announced last night that is has begun rolling out a new algorithm update targeting search spam. The new update is named the November spam update and should take about a week to rollout fully.
