Google has posted that it began upgrading some review-type results to product-type results in Search, and has been able to generate some new product type results. This started on August 22, 2022 and as a result, your Search Console performance and rich results report may be impacted.

I am a week late with the monthly Google webmaster report because I was on vacation and these are a pain to put together. But it is important and I wanted to catch you all up on the changes with Google SEO, webmaster, and organic search over the past month.

There seems to be a lot of confusion around the Google helpful content update and if it is “big” or not big. That all depends on if you were hit by it, if you were, oh boy is it really big for you. But in terms of how widespread it is, so far, it is not affecting many many sites.

Google has made some changes to how review-types show in Google Search and as a result, you may see some changes to the clicks and impressions reported within some of the reports within Search Console. Yahoo has announced a deal to purchase The Factual, a news rating company that scores media bias and credibility. Google has updated its Traffic Quality site with new text and policy visuals
Google has just announced an update to their Invalid Traffic site. What is Invalid Traffic. Invalid Traffic is “any activity that doesn’t come from a real user with genuine interest. YouTube updates Masthead ad requirements to allow sports betting
YouTube is now allowing sports betting ads to serve on the masthead as long as the ads comply with the related gambling and games policy. Recent masthead updates. Additional masthead updates were released in June for alcohol and prescription drugs. Full-day masthead reservations were discontinued and replaces with more targeted options.
